The Second Law of Thermodynamics and Revolution
Tarih: 21-01-2019 12:59:00 Güncelleme: 21-01-2019 12:59:00

The second law of thermodynamics tells that unless there is an external effect on a system the order will turn to irregularity and the irregularity will turn to chaos. So, first the entropy increases, but the result is the resetting of the entropy.

The degree of disorder in a system is called as entropy. When the water boils, it evaporates, which shows us that the entropy has also increased. The entropy of steam is higher in water and the entropy of water is higher than ice. The entropy of children is high, but the elderly is low. The entropy of dead people is zero. In times of revolution, the entropy of society reaches its highest level.

The mission of the modern state is to keep the entropy of society low. Its biggest difference from the traditional state is its success in controlling its citizens. The modern state carries out this control with numbers of ID, tax and insurance numbers. Its other methods are to control unions, non-governmental organizations, political parties and the media. The entire aim is to prevent the proletariat from being out of control and posing a threat to the system.

In the French Revolution, the revolution of 1848, the Paris Commune of 1871, and most recently in 1917, masses that became uncontrollable led the bourgeois governments to seek different methods of control. Today, even the most radical civil society organizations and political parties are under control. Revolts are started in a controlled manner, and each opposing formation is prevented from getting out of control by infiltrating into it.

Keeping the opposition under control is known in the USSR particularly as a feature of the Stalin era. But this dates back to the First International. For example, the expulsion of Bakunin and his companions from the First International reduced the energy of the proletariat. The entropy of the International has gradually been reset in the Third International in 1919.

It is a reality that Kronstadt uprising of 1921, the bloody suppression of the justifiable insurgency of Soviet sailors reduced the entropy of Socialism. In 1989, the entropy of Socialism was reset in the Soviet Union.

However, according to the second law of thermodynamics; breaking a glass is possible with less energy than repairing it again. Or to demolish a building, much less energy is needed than building it. So, much less energy that is spent to control the masses is enough to revolutionize.
